Saint Joseph Parish Elementary School in Downingtown (Chester County) recently held its annual Fitness Day & Walk-a-thon to raise money to help fund the school’s technology initiative, and to raise awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and healthy eating. The theme for this year’s walk was “Fuel-up-for-Fitness.”
The students, faculty and parents of Saint Joseph participated in a Walk-a-thon on the school grounds. There were also several fun obstacle courses set-up along the walk route. The school beat its fundraising goal and raised over $15,000 toward its technology initiative via donations to Saint Joseph students from friends, family and supporters.
The Saint Joseph school community is committed to the ongoing development and procurement of technology resources. In order to successfully fulfill this commitment, the school embarked on a mission to upgrade its technology infrastructure. This mission has allowed Saint Joseph School to install SMART board technology in all classrooms, along with hardware and software upgrades throughout the school.
