Ten Archdiocesan High School Students Recognized for Winning 12th Annual Art Contest During Dad Vail Regatta

For the second year in a row, the Grand Prize winner is Kathy Nguyen, Archbishop Ryan High School

 Ten Archdiocesan high school students were among those recognized by Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter at a press conference during the 76th Annual Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta.  The students took grand prize, first prize, second prize, third prize as well as honorable mentions in the 12th Annual Poster Art Contest held in conjunction with the Regatta.  Students’ artwork depicted familiar and iconic scenes of rowers on the Schuylkill River during the annual spring competition.

For the second year in a row, Kathy Nguyen of Archbishop Ryan High School was the Grand Prize winner of the Poster Art Contest.  In addition, nine other students from Archbishop Ryan, Archbishop Wood and Saint Hubert High Schools were also selected as first place, second place, third place and honorable mention winners.

The press conference in recognition of the opening of this year’s Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta and introducing the winners of the poster contest was held in the Corporate Competition Tent in Fairmount Park during the Dad Vail Regatta festivities on Friday, May 9, 2014.
