Saint Francis de Sales School Finishes in First Place in the States of Pennsylvania in the “First in Math” Online Competition

St. Francis de Sales School (“SFDS”) in Philadelphia has finished #1 in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (for the 3rd year in a row), #1 in the State of Pennsylvania, and #4 in the Nation in the online Math Program First in Math® (“FIM”) for the 2013-2014 school year.  The contest begins August 1 and ends April 30th every year.  Students compete within the school, with other schools in the Archdiocese, with over 1,000 schools in Pennsylvania, and with over 5,000 schools Nationwide.   The students at SFDS earned 2,098,233 stickers by solving a collective 6,294,699 math problems through the course of the year!

Dr. Robert Sun (St. Francis de Sales School Class of 1962) invented the 24 Game in 1988. In 2002, the 24 Game® expanded and moved to the internet under the title First in Math®FIM allows students to develop mathematical skills and to learn in a fair and friendly competition.
