Saint Katharine Drexel Regional Catholic School Honors Late Pastor With Blessing and Dedication of Pre-K Center

Saint Katharine Drexel Regional Catholic School will hold a blessing and dedication of its new Pre-K Center in honor of Reverend William F. McGeown, late Pastor of Assumption B.V.M. Parish in Feasterville, on Friday, November 6, 2015. Well over 400 students, faculty, staff, parishioners and members of Rev. McGeown’s family are expected to attend the Mass and dedication. Immediately following first Friday Mass, attendees will process from Saint Bede Church over to the Pre-K Center located on school and parish grounds. The blessing will take place outside in front of the new center.

Reverend William F. McGeown, beloved Pastor of Assumption B.V.M. Parish died in May 2015. Before his death, he led the parish for almost eight years. Monsignor John Marine, Pastor of Saint Bede the Venerable Parish; Reverend Matthew Tralies, Parochial Vicar, Saint Bede; Monsignor Joseph McGeown, Rev. William McGeown’s brother, and Reverend Michael Davis, Pastor of Assumption B.V.M. Parish will concelebrate the Mass and preside over the blessing and dedication of the Pre-K Center.

Upon completion of the center, the opening of the 2015-2016 school year marked the beginning of a new preschool program at Saint Kathrine Drexel Regional School for children ages 3 and 4. Groundbreaking on the construction of the Pre-K Center began in August 2014. Finishing touches on the building were made possible through fundraisers held by the school’s Parent Association. In 2012, Assumption B.V.M. Parish School in Feasterville and Saint Bede the Venerable Parish School in Holland merged to form Saint Katharine Drexel Regional Catholic School on the grounds of Saint Bede.
