Job Description

Saint Mary Catholic School is seeking a Principal who is a faith-filled, administrator and academic leader to join us in the mission of Catholic education.

In this role, he/she will be the leader and mentor for our team of Catholic educators, staff, students and school community; bringing them all together to ensure the continuation of our school’s high standard of academic excellence, spiritual formation, service, and commitment to every student reaching their fullest potential.

The Principal’s role will embrace our long standing traditions and will be prepared to be a leading light for Saint Mary Catholic School into the world of 2020 and beyond; hence preparing students who are Learning Today; Leading Tomorrow.

About Saint Mary Catholic School

Saint Mary Catholic School, located in historic Schwenksville, was established in 1959 when it was staffed by the Sisters of Saint Francis.   Today we are proud to be one of the few parish schools left in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Saint Mary Catholic School is situated on Saint Mary Parish’s 22 wooded acre campus. It is a vibrant community and presently enrolls slightly over 200 students from Pre K 3 through Grade 8. The school is accredited by the Middle States Association. Its governance model is a 10 to 12 member Board of Limited Jurisdiction, Pastor and the Business Office.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

  • Expertise in creating an environment that fosters academic excellence, Catholic faith formation, vitality and viability
  • Commitment to creating a climate that encourages the passionate engagement of each student in the learning process
  • Understanding of the use of technology in instruction and the distance learning environment
  • Ability to inspire a unified school culture through team building and development
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in contemporary marketing, development, fund raising and enrollment campaigns
  • Achieved success in the forward thinking and vision for the future of Catholic education
  • Understanding of the role of a Board of Limited Jurisdiction, Pastor and Business Office and ability to collaborate with all
  • Delegate, follow up, and monitor results
  • Experience with the Middle State and accreditation and the Blue Ribbon School process

Requirements

Candidates will possess the following qualities:

  • A strong commitment to the Catholic faith
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to build relationships with faculty, staff, parents and students
  • Strong understanding of marketing, development and recruitment strategies
  • Educated in child growth and development from early childhood to upper grades
  • Compassionate and consistent disciplinarian
  • Holds degrees and certification as required by the Office of Catholic Education
