Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide customer support for hardware and software systems;
  • Apply basic IT specialist system hardware and software and operating procedures;
  • Review and become familiar with all essential elements of IT contracts;
  • Communicate information about system changes through bi-weekly meetings.
  • Set up incoming computers systems, configure network settings and join to the network

As a member of the technical support unit, you will provide end-user support including but not limited to:

  • Document incidents in the helpdesk ticketing system and ensuring timely resolution of open tickets.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with technology users and staff to understand, identify, document, and resolve problems
  • Create, update, manage user permissions and computer and group assignments in Active Directory
  • Install approved software releases, system upgrades, patches and software related compatibility issues
  • Maintain a working knowledge of computer technology, network systems, and standard software and act as a resource of technical information to the end user community


Conditions of Employment

To qualify, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience assisting customers by identifying and/or resolving IT problems. – OR 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement (Superior Academic Achievement Definition) degree in an academic discipline related to this position OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.  You must be a U.S. citizen.
